How to read your Meta ad account in 15 minutes a day

You do not need three hours and a spreadsheet to know if your Meta account is healthy. Fifteen minutes a day, in this order, catches 90 percent of what matters. The other 10 percent is what your agency is for.

Minute 1 to 3. The header numbers

Open Ads Manager. Set date range to last 7 days. Look at four numbers: spend, purchases, cost per purchase, ROAS.

Compare each one against the same 7-day window a month ago. If spend is up but purchases are flat, you have a problem. If cost per purchase is up more than 15 percent, you have a problem.

Write these four numbers in a notebook every morning. After two weeks you will feel a drift before the data shows it.

Minute 4 to 7. Top spenders, by ad

Switch to Ads view. Sort by spend. Look at the top 5 ads.

For each one, check three things: frequency (should be below 3), CTR (should be above 1 percent), cost per purchase (should be below account average).

Any ad failing two of the three gets a flag for the weekly call.

Minute 8 to 10. Campaigns in learning

Switch to Campaigns view. Filter by Status = Learning.

Any campaign in learning past 5 days needs intervention. Either the budget is too low for the optimisation event, the audience is too narrow, or the creative is not working.

Stuck in learning is the most common silent killer of accounts. Most founders never check this.

Minute 11 to 13. Budget pacing

Look at today's spend by 11 AM. If it is more than 50 percent of your daily budget already, you will overspend by midnight. If it is less than 15 percent, you will underspend.

Either is fine occasionally, but if it happens three days in a row, your bid strategy or budget needs to change.

Minute 14 to 15. One creative idea

Last minute. Open your top performing ad from the week. Watch it once. Ask: what is the next variation?

New hook. Same script. Or same hook, new angle. Write the idea down. By Friday you will have five new creative briefs without trying.

This is the only proactive minute in the routine. The other 14 are diagnostic. The 15th is the one that compounds.

What you are not doing in 15 minutes

Building strategy. Reading attribution. Modeling cohorts. Building dashboards. Calling out individual ad creative for the team. All of that happens in the weekly call.

The daily 15 is just a vital-signs check. Heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen. If those four are off, you intervene. If they are fine, you go run your business.
